Imo State Chapter Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Barr. Comr. Ezinwanne Chimuanya Udoka, heartily felicitate with Imo Youths who are both at home and abroad.

In a press release to journalists in Owerri, Imo State, he
thank God immensely for strengthening the Youth of Imo State and giving us the wisdom to live in harmony and good health despite the economic hardship and other prevailing circumstances that impede, as well as challenge our society and living.

He said Imo Youths under the umbrella of National Youth Council of Nigeria under his leadership have been eagerly marking the International Youth Day which is annually globally celebrated on 12 of August, having been endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly and first celebrated on August 12, 2000.

“We should be reminded that The Day promotes Youths of the Ideals of Peace, Mutual Respect and Understanding among Peoples. We should be our brothers keeper, even as we promote peace and progress while helping government to do the needful to enhance social security and economic prosperity in the state”

Udoka disclosed that Youths, being the catalysts for societal good, peace, development and progress, should use the celebration to reflect on how best to advance our careers in education, trade, commerce, industry, entrepreneurship and politics with a view to contributing towards society development and edification.

He opined that as the Theme of the 2023 International Youth Day Celebration “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World”, implies, the Council hence encourages all Imo Youths to shift towards an environmentally, sustainable and climate – friendly world to critically respond to the global climate issues as to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He contended that “Green Skills” among the Youth will make the “Green Transition” possible in Imo State if we avoid crime and violence and other anti social conducts that bedevil our society and collective existence as a people.

“I therefore call on the federal and the state governments to create admissible grounds for youths to be able to adequately engage in productive activities so that peace, security and conviviality will be the order of the day in the state”
