LP Guber Candiate accuses Uzodimma for misappropriating N176 billion LGA funds……urges INEC to redeploy REC in Imo

The Labour Party gubernatorial flag bearer Senator Athan Achonu has accused Imo State government of senator Hope Uzodimma for misappropriating over N176 billion Local Government Councils Federal Allocation from 2020–2023 in Imo State
He highlighted that if governor Uzodimma release the LGA funds it will help for the completion of numerous uncompleted projects across the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State.
Speaking with Party Executive recently in Okigwe, Imo State he revealed that since the inception of this maladministration Senator Hope Uzodimma, has allegedly withheld all the statutory Federal incentives from the Local Government councils of the State
He disclosed that Senator Hope Uzodimma must refund the Local Government allocation before the November 11,2023 gubernatorial election in Imo State
Achonu however called for immediate redeployment of independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioner in Imo State Professor Sylvia Agu over allegation that she had collided with the Imo State Government of senator Hope Uzodimma wrote gubernatorial election results in the Government House Owerri waiting for November 11,2023 to announce the result
He further said that during the Presidential and National Assembly Election of February 25, 2023, the Resident Electural Commissioner Professor Sylvia Agu allegedly accepted Add hoc Staff recruited by Imo State Government of All Progressive Congress(APC) who thumb printed over fifty thousand ballot papers in favour of APC and was distributed across the twenty seven Local Government Areas of the State.
He added that three of the Addhoc Staff who were caught in Owerri-North LGA when the elections were going on by the Nigeria Police, in their confessional statement said that they were recruited by the Imo State government, yet up till now no body has heard anything about that serious electoral malpractice from the INEC till date
“Right now, the Resident Electoral Commissioner has allegedly invited those Add hoc Staff to participate in the November 11, 2023 Gubernatorial Election in Imo State which cannot happen”
He opined that during March 18, 2023 House of Assembly elections, Imo State Government reached super solid agreement with REC wrote the election results at the Government House and gave themselves twenty seven over twenty seven, something that has not happened in the political history of the state.
In the same development the governor of Imo State senator Hope Uzodimma recently said that he will arrest Labour Party gubernatorial candidate Senator Athan Achonu for embezzling billion of naira contract given to him by the Federal Government to reform the Health care Centres across the 774 Local Government Areas of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He concluded that such a person that is not highly sanitised should not be eligible to contest for the office of number one citizen of the State, adding that if allowed to contest it will portray the good Image of Imo State.
