The parents of the 39 kidnapped students of Federal College Of Forestry Mechanisation, in the Mando Iganbi Local Government Area Of Kaduna State, has appealed to Governor El Rufai to reach a compromise with the bandits for the release of their children.

According to a member of staff of the school, saying that the parents of the children have been seriously worried, and having sleepless nights about the fate of their children.

One of the parents of the kidnapped students, Friday said the Governor El- Rufai should soft pedal on his stance, and reach a compromise with the bandits for the release of their children.

It is the state Governor, who sometime ago told the entire people that if it cost him to pay bandits to end the killing of Kaduna citizens, he will do it, now he has come out again to say it is wrong to negotiate with bandits, and he wont pay any Ransome.

Meanwhile, Sheik Ahmad Gumi, a Moslem scholar said, the shoot at sight order given by the President has made it difficult to negotiate the release of the students, confirming that the bandits told him they don’t trust anyone after the order was given.

The criminals are very suspicious of anybody they come in contact with, as they fear that such a person might be working for the government. He also added that the ones he met recently in one of his peace talks in the bush, told him that they know the leader of the gang that abducted the students, but efforts to reach him has proved abortive, after that order by the President.

What I think is that the government should relax, and allow us to follow these people, to teach them how to behave, admonish them, and then negotiate with them, so that they can stop this thing, he said.
