The Federal Executive Council has approved the sum of #8.1 Billion Naira for the rehabilitation of the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase I Abuja.

The decision was taken at their weekly meeting Presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock.

The FCT Minister Muhammed Bello made this known on Wednesday, after the meeting. He said the secretariat was commissioned in 1993 which is a long time ago, adding that they are carrying out a massive rehabilitation at a total sum of #8, 110,then 665, 676.76 at a time frame of 24 months.

The Minister further stated, that they have approved the revision of the contract of the rehabilitation, and expansion of the outer southern express way to ring road in the FCT, at a cost of #15,125,122,967. Further more, the council also approved the revised estimated cost for the construction of a 15km left hand service carriage way of the outer southern express way, phase II at a cost of #11, 476, 424,,350.

Other projects include, total overhaul of 1500KVA Generating plant for the Abuja Environmental Protection Board, at a sum of #110 Million Naira, an upward review of the contact sum for the extension of the inner southern express way in the sum of 47.6 Billion Naira as well as review for the consultancy provision of the independence. And Constitution Avenue in the Central District of Abuja at cost of 131.4 Million Naira.
