New Imo Speaker Joins Campaign for Uzodomma’s Re-election
From Marcel Duru, Owerri
The Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Chike Olemgbe has charged all political stakeholders and entire indigenes of Ihitte-Uboma State Constituency to be prepared to flex their political muscles in favour of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s victory in the forthcoming November 11th, 2023 Imo state governorship election.
Rt. Hon Olemgbe made the charge while speaking at a forum of Ihitte-Uboma stakeholders, drawn from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) under the aegis of Ihitte-Uboma “Wuotu”
According to Chike Olemgbe, the best way to appreciate the numerous people-oriented achievements in governance as well as Governor Uzodimma’s love and identifiable political appointments for people of Ihitte-Uboma extraction is ensuring the governor’s re-election into office.
He posited that it would be wrong and funny for Imo electorate to gamble with the future of the state by casting their votes in the November 11 guber election for candidates or anyone without evidence of competence in making life comfortable for the people, stressing that Governor Hope Uzodimma, having demonstrated enomous capacity and excellence in piloting the affairs of Imo state, is only asking for a second term in office to consolidate on his achievements and make more positive impacts on the lives of the people.
He thanked the Ihitte-Uboma stakeholders for being grateful to Governor Uzodimma whose sterling leadership qualities according to him, made way for his victory in the House of Assembly election .
The stakeholders also gave kudos to a prominent political stakeholder in the area, the incumbent Imo State Commissioner for Trade and Investments, Hon Comrade Simon Ebegbulem for working tirelessly to ensure the Speaker’s victory at the polls and his subsequent elevation to the status of Speaker of Imo state 10th Assembly.
The Speaker applauded members of the three major political parties in the area for sinking their differences and coming together as a body to express gratitude to Governor Hope Uzodimma and Commissioner Simon Ebegbulem, describing the move as strong indication that the overall well-being of Ihitte-Uboma clan is far above selfish interests.
Speaking at the occasion, a major stakeholder and Imo State Commissioner for Trade and Investments, Simon Ebegbulem commended leaders and members of the Ihitte-Uboma Wu Otu organization for acting with onennes of mind and unity of purpose in expressing gratitude to Governor Uzodimma, adding that the Imo state Chief Executive deserved every commendation.
Hon Ebegbulem who pointed out that Ihitte-Uboma constituency had reaped lots of benefits from the Hope Uzodimma administration, bluntly charged every Ihitte-Uboma indigene to see the governor’s re-election on November 11, 2023 as a task that must be accomplished.
“This is the only way to thank and appreciate Uzodimma enough for his unparalleled magnanimity for Ihitte-Uboma” Commissioner Ebegbulem insisted.
Relying heavily on the call for Governor Uzodimma’s re-election, two other major stakeholders namely, the State Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Okey Anukwem and the Sole Administrator of Ihitte-Uboma Local Government, Hon. Barr. Uche konkwo , charged the electorate to ignore any call, plea or temptation to be divided in casting their votes on November 11. According to the two stakeholders, as far as Ihitte-Uboma is concerned, it’s only Hope Uzodimma that counts as he is genuinely committed to liberating Imo state from the grip of socioeconomic backwardness.
Earlier in their address, the
Stakeholders who spoke through Architect Achi Chris Achi said that members of the Ihitte-Uboma Wu Otu, a non partisan organization willingly resolved to pay the solidarity visit on Comrade Simon Ebegbulem in appreciation of Senator Uzodimma’s good governance and the commissioner’s marvellous roles that resulted to Rt. Hon Chike Olemgbe’s victory at the polls.
The stakeholders pledged unalloyed commitment to Governor Uzodimma’s re-election, come November 11, 2023. Present at the solidarity visit were prominent Ihitte-Uboma men, women, youth leaders, leaders of different political parties, co-ordinators of development centres and other political appointees, including, Hon. Anowi, Chief of staff to the Speaker of Imo State Legislative House.
