NIN blockages: Some of the issues got originated from service providers – NIMC

The Bauchi State Coordinator of National Management Identity Commission NIMC, Abdulmuminu Isah said that most of the problems applicants face or encounter on their lines blockaged was emanated from their Network providers not from the Commission.

The State Cordinator made this known to our correspondent during an inclusive interview in his office, Friday in Bauchi.

Noted that most of the NIN problems was as a result of non compliance by applicants who failed to register and linked their GSM line with National Identity Nnumber NIN as stipulated by the federal guidelines.

According to him said that the law to link SIM number with NIN has been started since 2019 almost three years now, where people are asked to harmonize and directed to link their NIN with their GSM line numbers

He said: “what actually happened is that most of the people failed to register their NIN number with GSM line numbrr as when it’s was supposed to do and this lead to blokaged of their lines.

The State Coordinator explained that when the line was blocked, the Network providers will then tell you is subject to verification from Nigeria, and immediately when the NIN was uploaded, confirmed and verified then applicants can easily access their information.

Isah, further clarified on some problems confronting applicants during registration or accessing other services in the Commission, urging the general public to only enter into the office before making any requests to avoid being trapped by non staff at the gate.

“Ours at NIMC we only link up and upload Applicants information regarding new registration, modifications on date of birth, LGA, change of name and re- arrangement of name on the Commission data bank”

Corroborating, the Centre Supervisor, Bulus B. Noma calls on the general public not to listen or allow to give out any information to any body at the gate, they should ensure that they go to the right office to lodge and chanel their complaint.

He, warned that any person did such is doing it at his/her own risk, the Commission have its payment schedule charge against any services rendered and was subject to remita payment.

Intervew with some applicants Galadima Adamu of Yelwa and Nafisa Abdullahi called on the federal goverment to make the process more easier considering the flight of common man expecially those that are coming from the villages.
