President, Pan Development Association (PDA), Engr. Naankang Garba, whose members allegedly attacked the convoy of Senator Nora Ladi Daduut, the Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial district, has apologized to the Senator and the  NUJ over the incident.

It could be recalled that Senator Dadu’ut and 15  Journalists as well as some of her aides last Thursday escaped death  by whiskers ,when their convoy ran into an angry mob in Namu community in Qua’anpan Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident occurred shortly after the Senator had  commissioned an ICT Centre/E-Library in the community, leaving the vehicle of the NUJ Plateau State Council burnt and the pilot vehicle belonging to the Senator.

The youths were protesting the arrest of some persons in the community .

Engr Garba, made the plea in an apology letter he personally delivered to the NUJ Plateau Council Chairman, Mr Paul Jatau at the council secretariat on Monday in Jos.

He used the avenue and called on government and security operatives to step up security surveillance in the locality.

The Pan president revealed that the suspected rioters looted shops of innocent citizens in Namu, after the carnage on journalists and Senator Nora Dadu’ut’s entourage.

Speaking on insecurity within their locality, he revealed that, there are suspected bandits living around Namu games reserve which has over 200 square meters land, terrorising residents of the entire Quan’Pan LGA.

Responding, Chairman, NUJ Plateau Council, Mr Paul Jatau, said the council will not accept such act on its members any more.

Mr Jatau revealed that NUJ has written to the Police Command in the state to fish out the criminals, so as the law could take its course, to serve as deterrent to others.

It will be recalled that the Namu incident resorted to the burning of NUJ bus and a Toyota Hilux van belonging to the senator.

It was learnt that security operatives had to use maximum force, gunned down four among the suspected rioters before they could rescue Senator Dadu’ut, who is currently undergoing trauma therapy.
