Plateau Speaker, Abok Impeachment: A Gross Illegality, Says Nanbol

A member representing Langtang North Central Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon.Daniel Nanbol Listik has described the impeachment of House speaker Rt.Honourable Abok Nuhu Ayuba as “gross illegality”.
Our correspondent learned that 9 out of the 24 Assembly members perpetrated the Impeachment process of Rt. Hon. Abok Nuhu Ayuba in the early hours of Thursday Morning.
It was also gathered that the heavy arm security personnel were deployed at the State Assembly complex whose denied other members who are not in support of the Impeachment act access to the chamber’s.
Speaking to our correspondent in Jos the state capital, Hon. Listik who is chairman House committee on health said “posterity will judge whosoever that participate in this gross illegality.
According to him “it could be recalled that there were fracas between the Executive Arm of Government and the Legislature two months ago. Most of us on the Plateau are aware of what led to all these fracas.
“It is also part of our constitutional responsibility to defend the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
“On this faithful morning of Thursday 28.10.2021 some Honourble Members came into the House of Assembly Chambers and created gross confusion by carrying out an illegal act that they impeached the Rt. Hon. Speaker
“They went against Section 92(2c) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Order 7 rule 14 of Standing Orders of the Plateau State House of Assembly.

- Rt. Hon. Baba Ibrahim Hassan – APC – Jos North North
- Rt. Hon. Saleh Shehu Yipmwang – APC – Dengi
- Hon. Naanlong Daniel Gapyil – APC – Mikang
- Hon. Livinus James Kwapfuan – APC – Shendam
- Hon. Eric Dakogol – APC – Quanpan North
- Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Ballo – APC – Qua’anpan South
- Hon. Yakubu Sanda – APC – Pengan
- Hon. Abdul Yanga – APC – Mangu North West.
- Hon. Yahaya Mavo – APC – Wase.
You would the Plateau 9th Assembly has the composition of 24 members in which 15 were from ruling All progressive Congress (APC), while 9 are opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
