Plateau United Players Task To Redouble Efforts Towards Winning OkNPFL Title

With ten matches to go in the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, management of Plateau United Football Club of Jos has reminded its players that winning the league is a realistic target.

You would recall Plateau United are currently second on the league table with 54 points from 28 matches played, four points behind table topper Rivers United who are 58 points.

General Manager of the Club, Pius Henwan  threw the challenge when he addressed players and coaches of the team at the Jos International Stadium.

Henwan who appreciated the players for their efforts in maintaining their second spot on the league table, however lamented the missed opportunities and urged them to be more clinical in front of goal in subsequent matches.

The General Manager who encouraged the players to brace up for the challenges ahead by going for victory especially in away matches, warned the players against indulging in sports betting which is capable of truncating their career.

“As players, take your career seriously and stop indulging in sport betting, because doing so is capable of derailing the club collective aspirations and your own dreams.

“Anyone of you who does that is invariably attracting the wrath of God and once you are cut, that is the end of your career because no any club will want to have anything to do with you.

Henwan disclosed that efforts are on to apprehend players who indulge in sports betting to face the full wrath of the law stressing that such players are enemies of progress.

He assured the players that management will continue to roll out motivational packages to propel the team to victory and urged them to reciprocate that gesture by putting smiles on the faces of its teeming supporters and the people of the state.

The General Manager commended Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu for the steady progress the team is making under his stewardship and reminded him not to hesitate to deal decisively with any player who is not ready to give him the desired support to succeed.
