Police Apprehends 22 Suspects In Jos Amidst Police National Day Celebration

The Nigerian Police Force, NPF, Plateau State Command, has apprehended 22 criminal suspects in the state.

The suspects were arrested in connection to various criminal activities ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, child trafficking, rape, fabrication of fire arms in different locations across the state.

The commissioner of Police, Plateau State Command, CP Bassey Ewah made the confirmation on Saturday while addressing at the Command’s headquarters in Jos ahead of the Police day celebration nationwide.

Our correspondent reports that a week long Police celebration slated to kick off from Monday,
30th March, 2026, until the grand finale on 7th April, 2026 with a theme: “Community Partnership: Building Trust”.

Ewah said effective Policing is a collective effort, requiring trust, understanding, and cooperation between the Police and the public they serve.

According to the CP, “we received a report that from a peace loving citizen of the state, that one Nanbut Hosea and one Makalele,, all male of Langtang South LGA attacked and robbed him of the following items at Doruwa Vang Vang Village of Shendam LGA; his Boxer Motorcycle valued at about Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (750,000.00k) only, one Goat valued at about Thirty Five Thousand Naira (35,000.00k) only, Ten (10) measures of Bene Seed valued at about Fifteen Thousand Naira (15,000.00k) only, his small Tecno phone valued at about Thirteen thousand Naira (13,000.00k), and a cash sum of Nine Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (9,500.00k) only.

“Upon receipt of the above information, detectives from Shendam division immediately swung into action, trailed and arrested one of the suspects, one Nanbut Hosea, while the other suspect is still at large”, he mentioned.

Ewah further revealed that “sometime in the month of November 2025, one Blessing Dung, female, 25 years old of Mangu LGA recruited one Sendi Emmanuel and Happy SNU, both female, of the same address and sent them to one Esther in Ghana under the pretense of giving them a mining job, only for them to become commercial sex workers.”

He also said all suspects would soon be charged to court once the investigation is done as they were making frantic efforts to unrival other prime suspects.

The CP assured the command is more than committed to ensuring the safety of lives and properties of all Plateau citizens.
