Support Military With Your Influence, COAS Admonishes Traditional Rulers
The Chief Of Army Staff (COAS)Lf. Gen. Faruk Yahaya has called on Traditional Rulers across the Country to support the Military, and other security agencies in their various kingdom to bring about a peaceful Nigeria.
Lt. Gen. Yahaya made this known during a courtesy visit to the palace of his Imperial Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Adelusi Odundu the Second, the Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom.
The COAS said he deemed it necessary to pay the visit as he was on a working tour of the 2 Division Area, stating that the support of the Royal Fathers is important to the success of fighting insecurity in the country. He appreciated the mutual relationship between the Nigeria Army, and Akure people and urged for its sustainable, saying that the Nigeria Army will continue to work with other Security Agencies in Ondo State, and beyond.
While speaking with the Officers and Soldiers of the 32 Artillery Brigade, he said the visit is to familiarise with the Personnel and get a first hand information about their welfare and challenges. He admonishes the troops to remain focused and committed in the fight against banditry and other crimes.
Speaking further, he urged them to display professionalism during operations and advised them to work as a team to maximise operational gains. He also told the troops to be loyal to the constitution of Nigeria and the President
Lt. Gen.Yahaya added that the welfare of the Soldiers is paramount to the Nation, warning that his command has a zero tolerance to indiscipline.
He later paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN)who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
