Turkey To Support Nigeria In Countering Terrorism
The Turkish Government has plegded to support Nigeria in the fight against terrorrism to strengthen the bilateral relations between both countries.
According to the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Hidaye Bayraktar who paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya at the Army Headquarters, Abuja. He said the visit was to solidify the relationship between the two countries, and to support Nigeria in fighting terrorism.
Speaking further, he said Nigeria and Turkey are both facing the problem of terrorism and insecurity, stating that the security units of both countries have to join forces, and fight terrorism.
In his response, the COAS said, the visit will further enhance the mutual relationship between the two countries, adding that he recently visited Turkish Defence Corporation, that
the mutual relationship of the two countries will enhance their intelligence and operational experience.
