2023 POLL: Wamakko describes APC victory as very sweet, thank God, the people

Following the All Progressive Congress, APC victory in Sokoto State, the reversed party leader, Senator Dr Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has referred to the outcome at the poll on Saturday 18th governorship and State Assembly elections as ‘very sweet victory’.

The senator made this remarks while addressing some group of party supporters who came to greet and prayed with him in his resident in Sokoto State.

Dr Wamakko while speaking with the party faithful who came in their great numbers in ages, sexes, culture and status by groups all over the state to celebrate with an indomitable leader on the just successful concluded state elections.

In respond, he could not holdback his feelings but expressed profound gratitude and deep heart appreciations to the people for believing and standing by him all through the thick/thin times!

He ascribed the victory to the people, and thank God emensely for without HIM, God it wouldn’t have been possible, Wamakko stated.

The people’s senator reiterated, the APC Governor-elect, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, is a change agent, we’d support him.

The former governor has equally called on the party’s supporters and loyalists to ensure they conduct their victory rallies in a very matured and peaceful manner.

Dr Wamakko while thanking all the stakeholders of the party, described APC as a peace-loving party in the country and State as a whole, therefore, urge all to sustain the tempo.

He also expressed gratitude to the Almighty Allah for granting APC a hard-fought victory.

While assuring the people of the state that they will never regret reposing tremendous confidence and trust in the APC at all levels.

Wamakko vowed that the APC government under Ahmed Aliyu will be a real government of the people, for the people and by the people.

The 2023 final results as declared by INEC

The candidate of the all progressive congress, APC Ahmed Aliyu, is the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Sokoto State.

Mr Ahmed Aliyu polled the highest number of votes.

The State Collation Officer, Bichi Amaya’u, who announced the result in Sokoto on Sunday, said Mr Aliyu polled a total of 453,661 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Saidu Umar, who polled 404,632 .

Mr Aliyu is an ally of a former governor of Sokoto State and the sitting senator, Aliyu Wamakko.
Aliyu was a deputy Governor to Aminu Tambuwal during his first tenure between 2015 and 2019.

In 2019, Aliyu contested against Mr Tambuwal, a member of the PDP, and lost with a close margin of 342 votes after a re-run
