ABIA GOVERNOR ELECT RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF RETURN FROM INEC

Those who have carted away government money, or properties have been called upon to return them, because govt money should not be for private use, when the people are hungry.
The call was made by the state governor Elect
, Dr Alex Chioma Oti, while receiving his certificate of returns from INEC Abia State with his deputy, at the Ogurube layout Umuahia State capital.
Dr Alex Oti, thanked the people of Abia State, the INEC officials, and the returning officer Prof Nnenna Oti, for the wounderful job they did in Abia.
The gov Elect stated that the joy of the procreation poses a huge responsiblility on all of them, which they could not taken for granted.
He noted that Abians have waited for an opportunity like this, and God has in his infinite mercy made it possible in 2023 general election, which is a naw dawn in the state.
He assured that his government and the, party leaders, will not disappoint the people.
He therefore called on any body who had made away with any government fund, or property should bring them back, because government money should not be converted to private use, when the owners of the money are hungry.
He called on everyone to come and join hands with him to build a strong and developed Abia.
Also speaking Bar Festus Okoye the Director Voter Education representing the National Chairman of INEC while handing over the certificate of returns to the Governor elect, Dr Alex Otti said that the purpose of the occasion is to issue the certificate of returns to both governor and his deputy, stating that,
according to the constitution which empowers INEC to issue within 14 days after a result has been announced.
He said that so many agents are responsibility for the conduct of a good, credible, verifiable election that will meet both local, regionals and international standard in a tournament and no single institution can do it alone.
According to him, democracy is not something you dash, you have to grow it, and nurture it, and you have to keep on nurturing it.
That is why Britain that brought democracy is talking making sure democracy becomes part of their culture, democracy can only grow and nurtured where people are vigilant, those who are not vigilant cannot protect democracy.
He thanked the people of Abia State for believing in democracy and also standing by it.
In his own speech, the administrative Secretary of INEC Abia State Bar Clement Oha thanked the
people of the state, who stood by them during the conduct of the elections not minding the black mails.
He revealed that their pictures were placed on the social media and accused that they have been compromised to rig the election.
He also called his national Commissioner who urged him not to mind them but to go ahead to do the right thing and Abians are happy for it.
He stated that most states after the conduct of the elections most of the INEC officials ran away.
Stressing that Abia State is a peaceful and Gods Own State.
He urged the Abians to continue with that spirit of love, togetherness, obedience, quietness and peaceful.
