Bayelsa State House of Assembly former deputy speaker, Hon Victor Sam-Ateki who served as Deputy director general operations for Gov Diri campaign has called on All Progressive Congress APC, other party’s candidates in the just concluded Bayelsa governorship election to accept the defeats, shun litigation and work with Gov Diri for the general well being and development of the State.

Ateki made this called at the instant of INEC declaration of his Excellency Gov Douye Diri election for the second term in office on Monday.

He reiterated the need for all Bayelsan’s illustrious sons and daughters who presented themselves for number one position to governed the state and has lost out because the people have chosen their preferred to respect the decision of the electorates, come together for the over all interest of the Bayelsa.

Ateki particularly called on the candidate of APC, Chief Timipre Sylva who came second in the race with 110,860 votes, and PDP 175,296 and while LP scored 906 to avoid implicating matters in challenging the victory to the court that if he, Timipre or APC don’t heeded, that even the two local governments of Brass and Nembe won out of eight in the state will be reclaimed with overwhelming evidence, Ateki said.

On the way forward, Chief Ateki called on Gov Diri to embrace everyone in the state, including the market women, wheel-barrow pushers, okada riders, artisans, all classes of people/ electorates for even development both in the areas of skills acquisition, capital projects, healthcare, education, and many more that will enhanced Bayelsans lives to live peacefully instead of being taken back to Egypt (unbearable condition they have rejected with their votes).

The former deputy speaker also urged His Excellency Gov Douye Diri to ensure the state continue to enjoy unity, peace and progress under his present administration, harping on security of lives and properties as one topmost agenda in his government.
He referenced the incidence of attacks that led to the death of party agent in Brass and described it as very unfortunate, he stated that politics should be seen as a game of selection rather than of bullet and war.

The former commissioner, Victor Sam-Ateki, applauded the INEC for their pain-taken and diligence during the election to delivered one of the best in the recent States elections.

His prayers for senator Douye Diri the governor is for sounds health/divine wisdom, higher height to do more for the state/nation.
