CDS Receives UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Assuring Peace Keeping, Stability Of The Region

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa has received in audience on 19 March, 2025 the United Nation Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr Mohammed Fall.
The CDS seized the opportunity of the visit to pledge the Armed Forces of Nigeria continuous resolve to ensuring improved contribution to the UN led Peace Keeping Operations.

According to the Director Defence Media Operations, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau said in a statement sighed that
General Musa also urged the UN to partner State Governments to ensure the return of refugees to their respective community, while looking forward to partnership for global security. He further congratulated the United Nation on its 80th Birthday.
The Defence Chief in his comment emphasises the importance of Civil Military Relations. According to him, it is more Impactful than kinetic means of operations.

The UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Mr Falls also describe UN long relationship with Nigeria Military as beneficial. He added that the AFN is one of the greatest contributors to the UN Peace Keeping Missions. He further called for more support to the stability of the region.
Mr Fall also showered encomium on the Armed Forces of Nigeria roles in maintaining peace in Africa and other parts of the world. He said the country is an enabler to United Nation operations. He also called for increase global engagement and the need to support the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

He added that Nugeria represent a lot to the UN due to its demography and provision of leadership in Africa. He thanked AFN for. Maintaining peace in the North East.The UN coordinator was accompanied to the visit with Mr Trod Jensien, head of OCHA.
