Imolites across the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State has condemned Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma for sponsoring 1000 pilgrims worth over N1.5 billion to Holy Land of Jeruselem Saudi Arebia, Mecca and Medina

Speaking with journalists in Owerri, Imo State yesterday the Health Practitioner based in the State Dr. J S Onwudiegwu one of the prominent Imolites who condemned the actions of state government, adding that sponsoring 1000 pilgrims worth over N1.5 billion is not some thing to write home about.

He revealed that the Primary Health Sector in Imo State is not functioning and required half of the funds to manage it, adding that State hospitals like the so called Specialist Hospital Umuguma by the Imo State government has no required Medical Practitioners and by extension the medical doctors serving in the hospital have not been paid for months.

Similarly a Pensioner in the state who did not want his name to appear in print said that right now Imo State Government is owing them the amount they have mapped out for 1000 pilgrims in the state, stating that on various occasions they have gone to know why the pensioners are not paid but the government told them that there was no sufficient fund to pay them.

“In this dimension we have learnt that the priority of Imo State Government of Senator Hope Uzodimma is to sponsor 1000 pilgrims to Holy Land, Jerusalem, Saudi Arabia of Mecca and Medina”

In his contribution Chief John Emenike from Orlu zone stated that the priority of the State should not be to sponsor over one thousand pilgrim’s worth N1.5 billion to the holy land when about Thirteen Thousand Workers(13,000) have not paid and over 48.8 Percent of Imo Youths are unemployed, since the inception of this administration.

In another development, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Chief Declan Emelumba has commended Imo state Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma for prioritizing the Spiritual need of the people of Imo State.
