Latest report from the power sector shows that Power Distribution Companies in the country has been rejecting the supply of electricity distribution, as a total of 5,452.96MW of electricity was rejected in one week, despite the outcry of black out.

Records show that on 22nd February 2021, only Abuja and Port Harcourt Discos collected, and distributed the entire MYTO load allocation, which they got from the Transmitting Corporation Of Nigeria,(TCN,). The remaining nine power firms rejected a total of 737.74MW of electricity that day.

On the 23rd of Feb. all the 11 power firms could not utilise a total of 672.82MW, while the following day, Abuja, Enugu, Ibadan and Port Harcourt, used all their MYTO allocation as the other 7 rejected a total of 396.26MW.

On the 25th of Feb. the entire Discos failed to utilise, and distribute 837.02MW, while only Abuja collected, and distributed all the load it received, on Feb 26 as the other 7 rejected a total of 392.26MW.

The report shows that 27th February recorded the highest single day load rejection as the 11 power firms failed to utilise, and distribute a cumulative total of 1.069.24MW of electricity.
