Faith Based Awareness Initiatives Harps on Morality As Core values In The Society.

Stakeholders in the country have advocated on the need for the inclusion of morality as a course in the Nigerian curriculum.
Executive Director Faith Based Aids Awareness initiative Folorunsho Oloruntunde made the call in Bauchi State at the opening Ceremony of a 3 days capacity building/training session for teachers, Guidance and councilors, heads and religious teachers for basic education schools from the six geo political zones across the country.
The training session, organized by SDGs/ National Teachers Institute, NTI for over 150 teachers from across the country has in attendance Head Teachers, Health Teachers, Guidance and Counselors from Islamic and Christian Religious Teachers In Basic Education Schools from the 36 states including FCT which is divided into 6 geopolitical zones of North East,North West,North Central, South East,South and South west which held Semotenously across the country
With the theme quality teachers,healthy nations said the need for inclusion of morality as a course is based on the lack of moral values in the society especially in the education sector and the need for the two religion to play a leading role installing discipline in the lives of our pupils in schools
Oloruntunde while applauding the Director General of the Nigeria Teachers institute said the role of the institute in shaping the knowledge of the Nigerian teachers can only best discribed as excellence through the kinetic approach to the laid down rules for Nigerian teachers to follow
He appealed to the institute through the Director General to ensure the Nigerian teachers ensure the attitude of morals in their academic value
Director General of the institute Prof Musa Garba in his opening remarks said for any nation to make meaning development and strife hard most depend on its moral values and that is were morality comes to play in the society and the educational system saying morality is key in reshaping the society and as a leader it should be adhered to at all cost to improve the system in the country
He said steps will be taken to ensure that the issue of morality will be taken into consideration while working on the template in the eduction curriculum as the institute is taking great measures in ensuring a better students and teachers in the society
Speaking during session, member of the faith based HIV initiative/ core facilitator north East zone of the training, Mrs. Esther Daniels
disclosed that the aim of the programme is to address societal ills from the morality point of view especially in areas of the scourge of HIV/Aids and Covid – 19 pendamic.
She said the programme equally availed them opportunities to talk to the participants on the dangers of having sex outside marriage among other issues, stressing the need for participants to use the knowledge acquired during the training to better the lots of the society at large.
She expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation exhibited by participants and encouraged them to take advantage of this workshop by stepping down what their have gathered to their various schools in their respective states
The participants, Comfort N. Kumzwam,(plateau) North central ( Shehu Baba(Borno) NorthEast),yemi. Suda(Ekiti) Southwest,Emmanuel Sabo(Kaduna) North west) and the NTI Coordinator, Plateau State, Suleiman Musa, all expressed joy over the opportunities provided them to acquire fresh knowledge and promised to judiciously use it to better the lots of the society .
