The Member representing Mangu/Bokkos Federal constituency at the National Assembly, Ishaya David Lalu, has officially flag off free distribution of 13 trucks of fertilizer for farmers in the constituents to boost food production.

Lalu believed the gesture is to enhance bumper harvest and address hunger and food insecurity bedeviling vulnerable Nigerians.

Our correspondent reports the assorted brand of fertilizer brought by the lawmaker ready for onward distribution is NPK 20-10-10, 25kg.

Speaking during the flag off in Mangu local government, Lalu appreciates constituents for the mandate bestowed on him to represent them in 10th National Assembly, promised to continue offering effective representation.

He said 90 percent of Mangu and Bokkos local government population are farmers, hence the need to provide the commodity and cushion the effects of hunger.

The lawmaker revealed 300 bags of fertilizer allocated to each federal ward and polling of Mangu and Bokkos constituency, urged the committee to ensure transparent distribution.

“Aside installation of solar power for surveillance security the mega road construction project is at advance stage.I reached out federal ministry of water resources to intensify completion of Gindiri dam as well as construction of solar drilling boreholes.”

The lawmaker further acknowledge collaboration with Plateau state government to make sure upgrading of four boarden schools in Mangu and Bokkos, as government secondary school Panyam will be upgrade to federal technical college.

“I will equip hospital in Daho and other hospitals in the constituency with secondary healthcare providers and modern facilities. 

“Very soon I intend to hold merger empowerment programs which will be beneficial to constituents including traditional rulers. Were doing this to change the narrative of representation in Mangu/Bokkos Federal constituency.

Some of the fertilizer beneficiaries who spoke with our correspondent namely; Fanam Nandom, Mrs Solome Danjuma and James Darlington expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for reaching out to common people.

Assuring judicious use of the fertilizer, the beneficiaries opines that the gesture will go a long way of enabling enhance bumper harvest.
