A community leader in Izombe, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, Chief Anthony Agueze said, the inversion of Izombe by the military over the past days is given the Community a serious worrisome situation over the Military presence in the town of Izombe without the community knowing their motive. It has been a thing of concern between residence as their presence put fear on the people.

Speaking with journalists at Rock View Hotel, Okigwe road Owerri, Imo State recently. The community leader highlighted that, some youths from the Community had been missing as no body in the community knows where about of these youths, adding that they have searched for them in all nooks and crannies of the state, but did not find them.

He said, the inversion of Izombe by the military was a calculated, and planned action which was eighth to evict entire Izombe town, accusing the state government of Hope Uzodimma for planning to checkmate activities of the community for only reasons known to him.

“He claimed the community problem with Imo State Government, was that the people of Izombe, and other communities in Oguta and Ohaji /Egbema Local Government Areas refused to hand over our land for RUGA. Oil bunkering was not the reason for military inversion, after all, oil wells in the Areas belong to the Northern
Politicians and their retired military.

The illegal oil exploration has
lasted for over 30 years. You will some time hear that NSDC has apprehended tankers loaded with adulterated petroleum products in the Northern States of Nigeria were lifted in Izombe in Oguta and Other Communities in Ohaji /Egbema Local Government Areas of Imo State.
It could be recalled that on Friday October 8 2021, Soldiers alleged from 34 Field Artillery ! Obinze Clashed with youths of Izombe in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, killed youth, identified as Chikwunoso Iherue of Umuokwu, Izombe, burnt over 30 motorcycles, several vehicles and 50 houses over sharing proceeds from illegal oil bunkering in the oil producing communities.

Meanwhile the State Government is yet to issue any official statement of situation in Izombe Community since the present of Nigeria Army as time of this report.
