Mutfwang Congratulates Berom Nation on 2023 Nzem Cultural Festival
⦠as Bauchi Governor pledged to collaborate with Plateau state for economic development

Plateau State Governor-elect, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang has congratulated the Berom Nation as they celebrate 2023 Nzem Berom Cultural festival which showcase the rich culture and art of Berom people.
The Governor-elect noted that the history of pPlateau state will not be complete without reference to Berom Nation, considering their rich cultural heritage and population within and outside Nigeria.
The Governor- elect who was speaking during the Nzem Berom Cultural festival, held at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Jos, on 12th May 2023, promised that his administration in conjunction with elders of the state will ensure that displaced persons were resettled back to their various ancestral homes immediately he is sworn into power as governor of the state in May 29th 2023.
He said culture is the direction that Plateau must go, noting that the incoming government would take advantage of the various ethnic nationalities exhibition to boost the tourism potentials of the state.
On his part the Governor of Bauchi state Bala Mohammed, who graced the occasion, promised to synergise with Plateau incoming governor, Caleb Mutfwang for Socio- economic development of the two States.
āWe are going to open a new chapter of synergy and collaboration with the new governor for the over all development of the states as Plateau needs infrastructure.
“We need to understand our common diversity, work hard to ensure the minority tribes were given a sense of belonging. Therefore, under my administration I would make sure the kingdom of Sayawa is actualized”, he promised.
The President Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba lamented the insecurity bedeviling the state, calling on the incoming administration to prioritize state police most especially Operation Rainbow.
The Paramount rulers revealed that as the custodian of people’s culture and tradition, they are working assiduously to ensure the revival of all cultural festivals on the Plateau to foster unity and development among people.
Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong represented by the state Head of Service, HoS, Sunday Hyat thanked Berom Nation for keeping faith with his administration for the past 7 years and charged them to extend the same unalloyed support to the incoming government for the development of the state.
He however, advised the Berom Nation to hold tenaciously to their cultural heritage they so much cherish, bequeathed to them by their forefathers.
The Chairman main planning committee of Nzem Berom 2023 and Senator representing Plateau North in the Senate, Senator lstifanus Gyang expressed the hope that the incoming administration will come up with refreshing thoughts that will address the prevailing insecurity challenges that has dislocated various communities in the state.
Senator Gyang while shedding light on the Nzem Berom 2023 theme “Berom Economy:A Metamorphosis” This is apt because the economy of any people defines and determines their relevance, influence, impact and indeed, the respect they are accorded.
There were goodwill messages by Senate minority Leader, senator Philip Aduda, deputy governor of Kaduna State, Dr.Hadiza Balarabe who was been represented by Engr. Martins Galadima, special adviser on political matters amongst other dignitaries.
Highlights of the occasion was the unveiling of Nzem Berom magazine titled “The Voice”. The Gbong Gwom Jos conferred two chieftaincy titles to Alhaji Yakubu Dalyop (Walin Jos) as well as Suleiman Shu’ibu (Jakadan Jos) respectively.
