NHIA To G After HMOs, Facility service providers defulters in Bauchi

BauchiNational Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has reitreted its commitment towards inforcement of the new laws on any errant Health Managements Organisations (HMOs) and health facility service providers who violated the laws in the State.

The State Coordinator, AminuTanimu gave the warning at a one day sensitization engagement on quality assurance, accountabilty and enforcement to enrollees
stakeholders held at Telwa Hotel and Suites, T in Bauchi. 

He explained that the signing into Law of NHIA Act 2022, has legally repealed the existing National Health Insurance Scheme Act Cap N42 Laws of the federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Tanimu, said that under the new NHIA laws no any HMOs and facility service provider is expected to treats or gives out quality service treatment and drugs. But not low service treatments and low quality of drugs to its clients.

Adding that under the new law the NHIA, staff of the agency have the right at any time to go out and conduct visit assessment, and in cost of the assignment any HMOs or facilities health service providers that denied or refused acess is automatically tantamount to be delisted or sanction accordingly. 

He further explianed that new NHIA law is now become mandatory to all Nigerians, including people living with disability (PLWD) as well as students respectively

He said that the State can participate in the health program sector unlike other aspects of security.

He disclosed that State has a total of 323 health care facilities services center across the 20 LGAs.

He informed the participants that the agency is making efforts to improve its emergency calls line to work 24/7 across the 36 states including FCT in the country. 

On the issuance of ID card, Tanimu said that the issuance of ID card has been suspended temporary do to the volume number of uncollected ID at the headquarters. Assured that whenever approval is given from the headquarters the process will continue. 

He urged the members of the public to always feed the agency with the right information on any wrong doing to save the scheme. 

In their seprate paper presentations; Aminu Taninu, Dr Hassan Shuaibu Musa all dual on highlights of the NHIA new laws, quality assurance services, accountabilty and enforcement. 

Vote of thanks by the representative of the stakeholders, SP Nasiru Ajeh thanked the NHIA for organsing the workshop and promised to desiminate same dawn to their respevtives agencies.
