Over 5000 Residents vacate Omuma Communities in Imo State
A Medical Practitioner based in Omuma, Oru-East Local Government Area of Imo State Dr. Dyke Ukommadu has stated that over 5000 people residing in communities in Omuma more especially youths have vacated the area and relocated to different towns out side the State for fear of being killed as Members of IPOB by the Nigerian Army deployed in the area by the Governor of Imo State senator Hope Uzodimma.
Speaking with journalists in Owerri, Imo State Yesterday, he said that the relocation started gradually when Security Operatives headed by fierce Military men killed the IPOB during a down raid on their hideout at Awomama Village ,Oru-East Local Government Area of Imo State.
He revealed that the presence of heavy armed military were scaring people in the communities, adding that what made the residents to change their mind completely was the incident of April 24,2021.
when a group of hoodlums numbering over 20 driving in a motorcade of three vehicles accompanied by a tipper loaded with used tyres, stormed the country Home of the Governor in Omuma, Oru-East local government Area and burnt down Some section of his house and some vehicles parked in the compound and also killed some security men suspected to be Civil Defence Corps.
Ukommadu highlighted that tension has pervaded the as military were deployed and patrol in every nooks and crannies harassing humiliating and killing innocent people and branded them IPOB.
