Ahead of 11th March, 2023 governorship election, candidate for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Plateau state Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has encouraged citizens in the state to come en-masse to cast their votes and resist any form of intimidation by the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Mutfwang said APC having smelt their defeat come March 11th has resorted to campaign of calumny, character assassination against PDP and its governorship flag bearer as they have nothing show as their scorecard.
The PDP governorship standard bearer who spoke to newsmen Wednesday in Jos, dire Governor Simon Lalong to publicly released the document he said he has against or be prepared to meet in court.
In his words, “The Time to Arise is NOW so that our votes can take back the state from those who want to perpetuate their substandard values of mediocrity and corruption through surrogates.
“While it is true that some of the INEC staff especially in parts of Kanam and Wase LGAs aided the subversion of law and due process leading to questionable outcomes in respect of the House of Representatives elections, we must commend those who did not allow their good names to be tarnished.”
Mutfwang further stated that, “March 11, 2023 is our date with destiny and history. We urge all Plateau voters to prepare earnestly to cast their votes without fear or hesitation. This is our opportunity to say no to retrogression and return Plateau to path of peace and prosperity.
“We Must resist any attempt to maintain status quo. We are aware of plans by the rejected APC administration in the state to bounce back from the shameful defeat it suffered on February 25 through rigging, intimidation and other primitive, criminal methods deployed by their candidates in Kanam and Wase.
“We must rise up as a people and resist them using every lawful means at our disposal. Even guns can be defeated by a united and determined people.
“Watch out for those who have been sent to create situations of over voting! Only accredited voters by BVAS machine must vote.”
On allegation of non payment of workers for
10 months, Mutfwang said, “our dear failed Governor even claimed to have documents to prove this allegation! I repeat my challenge to him to release the documents or be prepared to meet me in court.
“I am glad that the key leaders of both NUT and NULGE who led their unions while I was in office before the Governor illegally removed my colleagues and I from office have come to debunk this unfounded propaganda. It is clear that our opponents have smelt our victory.
” I believe in peaceful coexistence in a multi-religious and multi-ethnic society like ours. I want to state unequivocally that I do not believe in the superiority of any tribe over another. Therefore, Nigeria constitution is very sacrosanct, and I am the strong believer of rule of law.
