The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Imo State, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has accused the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, in Imo state of practicing politics without morality which caused leadership failure in the country
Anyanwu further said that if present day politicians could remember that genuine power only comes from God, the level of desperation to foist themselves on the masses will reduce to its barest minimum.
He stated this at the first session of the 11th Synod of the Diocese of Mbaise at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Owutu Parish, Ezinihitte Mbaise local government area of the state with the theme: “Occupy Till I Come.”
The Imo PDP flag bearer disclosed this while addressing religious and traditional leaders as well as parishioners.
He regrets that God having created human beings in his image expects them to love one another in everything, wondering why the same people ignored God’s directives and resorted to immorality, describing it as an unpardonable sin that has given the society a heavy cut which will take time to heal.
The PDP Governorship standard bearer further charged all religious leaders to rise up against thuggery, violence and election malpractices in the state, pointing out that in the cause of subverting and scuttling people’s mandates, Imo people became vulnerable to insecurity.
According to him, the level of greed, wickedness and desperation to retain power at all cost has created an unsecured society leading to unwarranted killings of Imo youths, appealing to the clergy to caution those behind the dastardly act.
He says that instead of politicians to work towards liberating the society from underdevelopment to an enviable height, they are busy accumulating wealth and recruiting thugs ahead of November 11, 2023 Governorship poll.
Anyanwu maintained that no viable leader or administration can ever achieve its policies if such government does not anchor its vision on morality, noting that by consistently creating good relationship with the church and men of God remains a major solution to violence and immorality.
While charging politicians to always invest in God’s vineyards, further advised them to take good care of those ordained to render spiritual assistance to humanity.
He was accompanied by the Deputy Governorship Candidate, Rt Hon Dr Jones Onyereri, Evang Myke Ikoku, Hon Ngozi Ogbu, Hon Mike Ahumibe (PDP Organizing Secretary, South East), Chief Law Biadou (PDP Organizing Secretary, Imo State), and Hon Collins Opurozor (PDP Publicity Secretary, Imo State.
Others include, Local Government Chairmen of PDP, former members of Imo State House of Assembly, former members of PDP State Working Committee, Samdaddy LGA Coordinators, Women Leaders, and Youth Bodies, amongst other.
