Community Health Practitioners Urge To Live Up To Standard- Galadima

The chairman of the governing Board of Community Health Practitioners Council of Nigeria, CHPCN, Mr Sule Galadima has called on practitioners to measure-up to expectations of the people by upholding the very ethical practices in discharging their service across the country. This called was made during a five-day retreat organized for the New Executives of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN) in Abuja.
Galadima while addressing the health workers charged them to always uphold the ethics of the profession to enhance effective health care delivery at the grassroot because as a Health practitioners you represent the first point of called in an emergency in community level.
He explained, “plans are already on ground to further sanitize the community health practitioners in country towards boosting primary health care system in Nigeria ”
The chairman stressed, the policy on community health is being developed that will establish a Community Health Institute as part of strategies to further enhance the growth of the sector.
”the Board will soon embark on operation show your certificate and license to practice and review training curriculum as part of measures to maintain standard in the practice of the profession.
Earlier, the Registrar of the Board, Alhaji Bashir Idris said, the Act establishing the Community Health council will be review towards realizing its objectives in line with the present realities.
Alhaji Idris who stressed the need for the establishment of School of Health Technology in the FCT to enable community health practitioners in the Territory have opportunity to upgrade themselves, advised the new Executive to reconcile all aggrieved members of the Association to work towards the welfare and betterment of the all.
On his part, the President of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, Comrade Kabir Ahmed Yahaya explained, the retreat aimed at enlighten the new Executive of the Association on their responsibilities towards repositioning the Association for better performance.
Comrade Yahaya, reiterated the readiness of the New Leadership of the Association to partner with Government and others stakeholders to enhance better delivery thereby reducing child and maternal mortality in the country.
In a similar development, some Nigerians has urged the Community Health Registration Council to persuade the National Assembly to speedily amend the acts of the council to position the Council to be responsive to the needs and challenges of communities health workers in the country especially as the out break of more pandemic rock the country
