Ex Students of FCT School of Nursing worried over certificate after 40 years before legal status

The school of nursing Gwagwalada Abuja is the federal capital territory health institutions established for the training of nurses and others medical professionals especially midwives in Nigeria capital
The school’s authorities is under the supervision of FCTA under the Health and Human Services Secretariat, Nursing Department of FCTA and Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
The School of nursing Abuja was established about fourth years ago
but without a legal backing while hundreds of nurses and others medical professionals had being graduated and certified professionals.
Nigerians are worried what happened to the students who had passed through the school and if the non accreditation will affect the merit of the certificate.
But hope come on the way of the school last week when the Nigeria Senate decided to give the school a legal backing to recognize the institution.The school which offered the following courses:Post Basic Nursing Training(Nursing Training) Basic Midwifery Training(Midwifery Training)Certificate in Anatomy and Physiology (Anatomy and Physiology) Certificate in Family health(Family health) Certification Medical Surgery(Medical Surgery Certificate in Primary Health Care(Primary Health Care School of nursing has got many ex students of the worried what become of their certificates years to come.
According to one of the student who want to remain anonymous,say he doesn’t not want a situation when regulating bodies will come and say tomorrow that their certificates is fake or not recognize by the authorities due to the status of the college.
Although,the FCT College of Nursing and Midwifery Bill, plus 45 others Bills was passed in 2011 at the tail end of 7th Senate but the bill was not assign to by president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan than when the bills were sent to the Senate for concurrence after been passed on the floor of the House of Representatives.
Many senators, however, opposed the speedy passage of the bills then.
