Gov. Sule Reiterates Commitment to Protect Lives And Properties

Nasarawa State Government has reiterated its commitment in the protection of lives and properties of its citizens..
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State who disclosed this, while declaring open national executive Council meeting and National Security Summit organized by the Nigeria Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ) at the luxury hotel, Lafia.
The Governor further explained that, when he came on board on May,29,2019, he met some security challenges which includes farmers/herders clash, as well as the issue of armed robbery and kidnapping, but he was able to tackle the issues with the support of security agencies in the State.
He said the State is now enjoying relative peace due to the effective collaboration between the state government, and the security agencies in the state., pointing out that, “our traditional rulers and leaders of thought are doing their best to ensure the security of lives and property of our people”.
While commending the leadership of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) for holding the meeting in the State, the governor who was represented by the secretary to the state government, barrister Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu, assured the support of the state government at all times, when the need arises.
Also Speaking, Borno state Governor, Umar Babagana Zulum who was represented by the state Commissioner for women Affairs and social development, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo commended NAWOJ for the summit which according to him, came at the right time as the insecurity become an order of the day in Borno state.
Zulum further assured women journalists of the state government commitment in supporting them at whatever capacity, adding that his administration in Borno state has been assisting journalists in doing their jobs effectively.
On his part, Director general, Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Yakubu Muhammad who was represented by the executive Director news, Muhammad Labo assured NAWOJ of their support at all times.
The Director General further underscored the importance of media, especially now that the country is facing some security challenges, therefore called for the collaboration of all asundry to enable the security agencies succeed in fighting insurgency in the country.
