In early morning hours today, Monday, 22nd March, Katsina central market guts fire.

It was gathered that the fire started at about 6am, all effort for the fire service to contain the spread of the fire to other shops was in vain.

Meanwhile, hoodlums seized the opportunity to loot shops, carrying items away.
