National Assembly Inaugurates Committee On Minimum Wage To Forestall Strike
The strike threat issued by the National Assembly Chapter of the Parliamentary Staff Asaociation Of Nigeria (PASAN)seems to be yieding result as the clerk to the National Assembly, Olatunde Ojo, has inaugurated a 9 member panel to fashion out modalities for the implementation of the new minimum wage for the workers.
The SA to the clerk on media, and labour, Austin Adesoro, said the management will continue to make workers condition of service, and wefare a matter of priority saying the 9 member panel chaired by the secretary, Human Resources, and Staff Development, Felix Otunwese, was set up to address the issues raised by the workers.
He further stressed the need for dialogue as a panacea to the issue rather than unnecessary agitation.
The demand of the workers include, the immediate implementation of the new minimum wage, and the payment of other allowances.
