President Tinubu Promises To Build A Vibrant Nigerian Army For Effective Service Delivery

The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reinstated unwavering commitment towards building a vibrant Nigerian Army for effective service delivery.
Tinubu said Nigerian Army over the continued playing a critical role in securing the territorial integrity and development of Nigeria.
President Tinubu, represented by the minister of Defence and former Governor of Jigawa state, Mohammad Badaru made this known Saturday during a grand finale of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), 2024 and Nigerian Army 161 years anniversary, held at 3 Division physical training ground, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Rukuba Barracks, Jos.
“As your Commander-In-Chief, my administration is committed to building a well-equipped, and truly professional army that will remain the pride of the nation. We are committed to providing you with all that you need to enable you fulfil your constitutional responsibilities.”
President Tinubu promised to continue improving the welfare package of the arms forces personnel, saying, “I have approved the payment of Group Life Assurance for all members of the Nigerian Army who died in the line of duty. To heighten your combat efficiency and dexterity, I also approved the purchase of attack helicopters and other necessary equipment and combat enablers for you to carry out your assignments more proficiently and effectively.
“You must sustain the progress made so far and evolve strategies to ensure that violent groups do not overwhelm peaceful and law abiding Nigerians.As you take direct action against violent groups, you must remember to conduct yourselves in a manner to reflect your professionalism.”
Enumerating some of the achievements for marking one year in office, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, revealed in the last year, and since the last NADCEL, 2023 the Nigerian Army has acquired 2 helicopters and numerous battle enablers, some of which will be displayed here today.
“The Army has also expanded and deepened its training activities for operational effectiveness. These measures have enabled us to successfully contain the activities of bandits in the North-West while the heinous crimes of Boko Haram Terrorists have been brought to an all-time low. The incidences of farmers-herders conflict in the North-Central has equally been curtailed, and we have gained the upper hand against the criminal groups in the South East, South West as well as the South South Zones.
“We are not oblivious to how badly our people require and demand security of their lives and properties across the nation, and we are focused on the ultimate goal of achieving the total elimination of all threats to our dear nation and its people within the shortest practicable time.
“So far, over 500 apartments have been built for the men and women of the Nigerian Army who have subscribed to the AHOOAS scheme.”
COAS bestowed distinguished award to personnel who have demonstrate uncommon commitment for the service to Nigeria.
