Following the Sunday’s night attack by suspected herders where seven persons confirmed death in Danda Chugwi village of Vwang District in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, the member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos has task constituents to rise up to the occasion of defending themselves against any external aggression.
Bagos who spoke to Journalists after assessing the level of destruction at Danda Chugwi on Tuesday, said the Nigerian security architecture is in shamble and can no longer guarantee the safety of its citizens.
In his words, “you know this is a very sober moment for us and is more painful because this is not the first time this has happened. We have been making efforts that people remain very very peaceful, abiding by the Law to leave with everybody but this continues occurrence. The truth of it is that we cannot continue to tell our people to remain quiet or calm.
“We have to openly tell them to defend themselves. Because just imagine the people in this community are farmers and none of them is carrying arm believing that the Government have the capacity to protect and defend them but Government are not doing anything. So what can we tell them? We ourselves are not longer save.
“So, not to say much, we are calling on our people, the youth to get set, prepared and defend themselves! That is what I have to say as far as this is concerned.
