SECURITY: CP Sokoto, Ali Kaigama gives 3 Months of exploits in the State

Commissioner of police Sokoto command, CP Ali Hayatu Kaigama has stated the achievements in the state that all forms of crimes and criminalities; the command through its intelligence driven policing strategy and relentless commitment, aggressive patrols, raids of criminal hide outs, establishment of visibility policing community engagements tackled.
CP kaigama while given the score card on security report of 100 days of the state administration in a media chart with pressmen explained that the strategies deployed has yielded some tremendous achievements, which included but not limited to; *arrest of kidnapers, recovery of firearms and ammunitions and more.
He recalled success in rescued four kidnapped victims, arrest of suspects and recovery of firearms from suspected bandits invaded Yarabba and salah villages to kidnapped four (4) persons and injured one.
“On the receipt of this report, I promptly mobilized and deployed command tactical teams led by one SP Salisu Garba o/c anti-kidnapping for rescue operation.
‘The team which swung into action went to the scene from where they traced footprints of hoodlums and victims towards Yabo, Sanyinna and Silami forest. Suspected bandits/kidnappers were traced and routed which resulted to subsequent rescue of (6) six victims and arrest of three suspects namely; [1] Aliyu Abubakr [2] Abdullahi Umar [3] Ayuba Magaji all ‘M’. While one AK49 rifle with two magazines loaded with 15 live ammunitions, a locally fabricated pistol with 12 rounds of live ammunitions, a Kasea motorcycle, and nine (9) GSM phones suspected to belong to kidnapped victims were recovered from the suspects.
Meanwhile, the suspects will be charge to court for prosecution.
“Also revealed is the arrest of suspected kidnapper by a team of Anti-Kidnapping operatives from SCID who arrested one Dauda Ahamad a renowned bandit and kidnapper who has been terrorizing Runjin Sambo, Gidan Igwai, Gidan Dare and Kwalkwala area in Sokoto metropolis. The suspect was reported by one Mustapha Ahamad of Federal Housing Runjin Sambo that, on same date he conspired with others now at large and kidnapped his son Yusuf Mustapha aged 15yrs, in a swift reaction, the police led by the suspect, one Dauda Ahmad stormed Kwalkwalawa Area to recover arms hidden in the bush, in the process the detectives came under sudden attack by the gang members of the suspects as a result he attempted to escape from the detectives unfortunately he was hit by a bullet fired at the detectives by his gang members, as the gun duel ensued three of his gang members namely, (1) Abubakar Isah ‘M’ (2) Samaila Aliyu ‘M’ (3) Abubakar Aminu ‘M’ were arrested. The injured bandit was rushed to UDUTH for treatment, but was later confirmed death by the Doctor. The arrested suspects will be charge to court.
CP kaigama also revealed arrest of notorious kidnapper/recovery of firearm after an information received from SUPOL Bodinga Division, that one Isah Abubakar of Shinaka village in Goronyo LGA, who has been terrorizing Goronyo, Wurno, Wamakko and Bodinga LGAS was arrested in possession of fabricated revolver gun. Same day the said suspect criminally conspired with one Bello Umar of Diddiba village in Wamakko LGA and invaded the house of Bello Danjeka of Kulafasa village in Bodinga LGA, robbed him of his motor vehicle golf 3 with REG. No. BLE 227 AA.
However, while the detectives were on their way to execute search warrant in the house of the suspect at Goronyo LGA he jumped out of the police moving vehicle and sustained serious injuries, he was rushed to UDUTH mine for treatment, where he was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
Again, recovery of live ammunition and motorcycle, Kasea belonging to suspected bandits by policemen on patrol at Gada division who on sighted unregistered motorcycle conveying three suspicious men, on sighting Police Patrol Team made a sudden turn and zoomed off but the officers gave them a hot chase and as a result the suspects dropped a bag and abandoned kasea M/cycle they were using. On a close search of the bag it was discovered that the bag contained 390 rounds of ak47 rifle. The manhunt of the suspects still ongoing.
CP narrated that the command efforts in identified abandoned and recovered motorcycles from the armed bandits in large numbers. Described the operation along the road leading to Huss village in Gudu LGA, where the gangsta were shooting sporadically. But on receipt of the information, the DPO immediately mobilized teams of Policemen in conjunction with the operation restore Peace, the military and local vigilante group to the scene and empowered the hoodlums they fled abandoned an unregistered motorcycle which was promptly recovered.
Meanwhile effort is being intensified to trace the rightful owner.
CP kaigama according to Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Rufai affirmed that the case of criminal conspiracy, mischief in relation to electricity, theft and offering of bribe to team of policemen on patrol attached to command dept of operations along Birnin Kebbi road, who declined made arrest and quickly take them to state CIID sokoto. The three suspects include Rufa’i Sani, Yusha’u Abubakar and Ahmad Bello Of sokoto metropolis.
“That same day, while on patrol the team intercepted a Sharon motor vehicle dark-Blue in color with Reg. No. KSG 356 EP, loaded with twelve roles of conductor aluminum wires reasonably suspected to have been vandalized and stolen from electrical poles, during investigation the suspects offered them the sum of (N800,000) as bribe to enable them escape arrest, upon investigation, they confessed to have stolen the said wires from electric poles located along Sanyinna road in Tambuwal LGA, sokoto.
“Also confessed to previously vandalized and stole conductor aluminum wires in at Sifawa bodinga LGA, Shagari LGA and Wamakko LGA respectively worth over N17m and sold same to one Ibrahim Abdullahi Danfata (2) Bello Sani Zamzam All ‘M’ Of Kwanni area sokoto. They were however arraigned to court.
Sokoto police boss also revealed of criminal conspiracy, robbery and attempt to commit culpable homicide foiled by his men on the 9th October, he said ‘a team of policemen attached to department of operation (DOP’s) arrested four; Rabilu Abubakar, Sani Mohammed, Mustapha Zayyanu And Nura Mohammed of sokoto metropolis. On the same day while on patrol along round about Mairuwa, Kwannawa and Marina area Sokoto, sighted the individual persons moving suspiciously along the way.
During the investigation, “a cyclist named Yusuf Mohammed Of Mabera Area Sokoto, identified one of the suspects Sani Mohammed of Durbawa to have deceitfully conveyed him on motorcycle at 7pm of 5th October from old airport area Sokoto to Kasarawa area under the pretext to receive message, where he had criminally conspired with other three suspect in a red golf motor vehicle along the state university Sokoto and forcefully strangled him with a rope and dispossessed him of his tecno phone, cash sum of N7,000. and Boxer motorcycle valued N545,000. The case is still under investigation.
“Exhibit recovered from the suspects during the operation under review include
1- Ak47 rifle with 15 rounds of life ammunition and a locally fabricated pistol containing 12 rounds of life ammunitions.
2- Locally made revolver gun
3- 390 rounds of Ak47 ammunitions
4- Two kasea motorcycles
5- 40 rounds of GMPG ammunitions
6- Counterfiet currencies denominations
7- Twelve role of conductor aluminum wires.
CP kaigama thanked the Inspector General of Police, Ag IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbeyokun, and commended the Sokoto State Government through the able leadership of His Excellency Governor Ahmed Aliyu and LGA chairmen for the political will and support rendered to the Command, and equally appreciate all other Security agencies in the state for their collaboration and synergy.
Finally, he appreciated the good people of Sokoto state for their cooperation and prayers, and solicit for more cooperation at all times, CP kaigama appealed”.
