UniJos To Host NUGA 2024, As Korean Amb. Youngchae Unveils Taekwondo Gymnasium Complex

Preparations is on top gear by the University of Jos to host Nigerian Universities game association (NUGA) in the year 2024.
Vice Chancellor University of Jos, professor Tanko Ishaya revealed this on Wednesday when the Ambassador of Republic of Korea, His Excellency Kim Young-Chae visit the institution to commission Taekwondo Gymnasium Complex.
The indoor Taekwondo Gymnasium sports complex is funded and donated by the Korean government.
Our correspondent learned that the sporting facility apart from Taekwondo Gymnasium it also comprises; table tennis, boxing, basketball coat, back minton with a gallery that have the capacity to contain about 200 spectators.
According to Korean Ambassador Kim Young-Chae, the aim of the visit is to commission Taekwondo Gymnasium sporting complex because University of Jos and Korean embassy have a long lasting relationship.
He said:” Korean government are good partners of Nigeria for over decades in terms of politics, economy, education and culture.
” Korea have made a tremendous success in economy and education because training of young people which they have become professionals in their various fields of endeavour remain our target.”
Professor Tanko Ishaya, Vice Chancellor University of Jos, said the institution have been privileged to be in a cordial relationship with the Korean embassy, noting that the whole process that saw the actualization of the indoor Taekwondo Gymnasium sports complex started right from the administration of former Vice Chancellor Professor Sabastine Maimako.
“It is our prayer that the friendship will continued maturing as we desire to have sports institute.”
The VC confirm that the institution were lucky to have a good contingents who performed credible well in the recently concluded Nigerian Universities Game Association (NUGA) 2022.
“University of Jos have a very good contingents that compete and won prizes such as; gold medals, silver medals and bronze medals during the course NUGA 2022. We hope to host the best NUGA in 2024.”
