ABIA CIVIL SERVANTS BE CAREFUL THIS TIME

A Greek gift is any favor done with treacherous intentions. Reading from the Internet and in some platforms, that the Abia State governor, Ikpeazu has ordered for a command promotion, to all civil servants in State, my question now is, what of those, who are not benefiting from the command promotion, what do they stand to gain, though I remember the proverbial Greek gift, but I don’t know. 

There is nothing deceptive as one keep on deceiving the people. For me, I think Whatever gift coming from Ikpeazu at this particular time is nothing but that of a Greek gift. 

Someone who has been governor for almost 8 years now and never giving any command promotion, leave allowance, he failed to pay for many years now, promotion areas, he failed to pay a dime since 2015, he became the governor of this state. 

This gift, that is  coming from Ikpeazu now, may not be a genuine gift. I believe the gift, is to buy the votes of the state civil servants. You’re either being gifted to be swayed to vote for PDP or you’re being gifted because they want to get a favor from you.  Check the records; no genuine gift has ever come from a genuine person. 

In the build up of the 2019 election, which was the reelection of this same fake magnanimous governor, the government announced that the governor has approved waiver for local government employment. Abians were urged to go and get the forms at the local government service commission. 

Many young girls were slept with in different hotels in Aba and Umuahia and even outside the State with the promise that they would be employed. Many were duped of their little resources with same promise that they would be employed.  

Before the election in 2019, the local government service commission published names of over 2,000 Abians that have been employed in the local government civil service. They were all given appointment letters by the government and were promised that upon reelection that they will be fully confirmed.

Around January, 2020, after the reelection of governor Okezie Ikpeazu, these Abians were all sacked by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu who now claimed that he never approved any employment waiver.

Same governor is at it again. This time around, he is claiming to have approved one grade level promotion for both local government and state workers in the state, all in a bid to sway these innocent workers to vote for the PDP again. 

The truth is that if you repeat same old mistakes of 2019, they will deny ever approving such promotion immediately they hold the stage of Abia governance again.  This is what a Greek gift implies. 

Once bitten, twice shy. Shine your eyes and use your head. The leopard does not change its spots.
