CBN To Assist Onion farmers With Loan To Boost Crop Production.

The Central Bank of Nigeria.( CBN) is to assist Onion farmers in order to improve the production of the product in the North Central Zone of the country.
Representative of the central bank of Nigeria ( CBN) in Nasarawa State, Mr. Tasha Jonathan who disclosed this in Lafia during the inauguration of the North Central Zone of the Nigeria Onion producers, processing, Dealers, and Marketing Association ( NOPPM) in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital also urged them to ensure that they refund the loans to enable others benefits.
Jonathan further explained that the Central Bank Of Nigeria ( CBN) is ready to assist Onion farmers with farm inputs such as herbicides, insecticides, and other farm inputs that could assist Onion farmers to produce more for the use of the teaming population of the country.
Also Speaking, the National president onion producers, processors, Marketing and dealers Association, Alhaji Aliyu Isa underscored the importance of onion to the Heath of the people, also called on his members to ensure that they abide strictly to the rules, and regulations guiding the Association.
Isa further used the forum to call on the newly sworn in leaders of the Association in the North Central zone to ensure that they take their people along in the discharge of their duties.
The National President appealed to them to tackle some of the problems faced by the members of the Association to enable them have a sense of belonging.
On his part, the Emir of Lafia. Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad1, expressed the support of the traditional institution in the state to enable the Association succeed on the enormous tasks ahead.
Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad1 who is the chairman , Nasarawa State Council of chiefs, assured the Association that he would talk to the governor to assist the Association whenever the need arises.
Highlights of the occasion includes the swearing -in of newly elected executive from Nasarawa, plateau,Niger Kogi, Benue and the Federal capital Territory, Abuja.
