CDS Tasks Media on Cooperation, Transparency, Authenticity in their Various Reportage

The Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa on Friday 15 December 2023, addressed the Media on Transparency, Cooperation and authenticity in their reportage.
He emphasised on this based on the fake story published on his demise by one of the medium, without authentic verification.




He recalled that he was on a live TV on that very day with the members of the House of Representative.
He added that if there’s any issue they want to clarify, they should not hesitate to meet up with him, saying that he operates an open door policy.
General CG Musa also spoke on the incident of accidental bombing in Kaduna community.
He clarified that mistake due happen sometimes, because we are humans. He appealed to Nigerians for cooperation; that investigation is still on going.
A minute silence was observed in honour of those who lost their lives.
He also addressed the security challenges currently faced by the military, and made it clear that the military also faced a lot of tribulations.




He emphasized the need for public sensitization. He equally called for understanding and appreciation of the sacrifices made by security agencies for the peace of the nation because it’s not easy for them out there, leaving their families and friends, in the end most may not come back alive.
“I urge the public to avoid undermining those who work tirelessly for their safety. The incident in Kaduna is regrettable and a committee had been formed to investigate and advise on the way forward,” he said.
In conclusion, the CDS expressed gratitude for the opportunity to address the media, saying, the Defence Forces’ commitment to transparency and accountability is very important.
