Charter of Equity Reinvoke in Imo Politics —- Emeagha

The former Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) who has defected to All Peoples Congress(APC)Hon. Ray Emeagha has stated that reintroduction of Charter of Equity in the political landscape of the State is simply to make Imo State better and by extension clear the political horizon and stop zonal political domination in the State
Speaking with journalists at his residence in Owerri, Imo State yesterday revealed that right now Orlu, Okigwe, and Owerri senatorial zones of the State have consented to the reintroduction of the Carter of Equity in the State politics.
He emphasised that Owerri Senatorial zone is supporting Senator Hope Uzodimma reelection because he represent the very person to build new Imo State under the new arrangement.
“Senator Hope Uzodimma has only four years to complete his tenure and as soon as he completed his tenure, Owerri zone will produce the next governor of Imo State and therefore the collective responsibility of Owerri zone is to give Senator Hope Uzodimma tremendous support, so that when he complete his tenure in office, the governorship slut will automatically go to Owerri zone.
Similarly, the Chairman of Imo State Elders Council Eze Lemmy Akakem described Politics as football that has diversionary dynamism that anchored on resilience and dexterity.
He projected that Orlu, Okigwe and Owerri zones had supported the new version of Charter of Equity and any body from Owerri zone Contesting for governorship in Imo State is a saboteur and should be considered left wing in the political configuration of the zone.
He concluded that a meeting of Imo State political leaders drawn from the three zones after the creation of Abia State from the lager Imo State in 1991was held on
June 9, 1991 at Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu glass House Office Orji.
Akakem said that the meeting was centered on zonning the governorship seat of Imo State for Peace, harmony and stability of the State.
“Under the Charter of Equity of governor Achike Udenwa started in 1999and ended in 2007 and governor Ikedi G Ohakim ended abruptly in 2011 without completing eight years and the power went back to Orlu again headed by Governor Rochas Okorocha who completed eight years in 2019.
Governor Emeka Ihedioha from Owerri zone stayed only seven month and the power went back to Orlu again with senator Hope Uzodimma, and when he finish in 2027 eight years term it become twenty four years of Orlu zone on governorship seat of the Imo State”
