The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, has bolstered the educational morale of the winner of the recently concluded landmark grandfinale of the NILDS National quiz competition.
This followed the President of the Senate’s request that the winner should be officially presented to him by the Director General NILDS, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman.
The historic but brief ceremony of the symbolic presentation of the trophy to the winner by the Senate President turned out to be a very unique opportunity for the first place winner and the Teachers of the Enitoma High School,Port Harcourt (South-South) to meet with the number three citizen at the National Assembly.

It will be recalled that the keenly competed final of the quiz competition was held this month on 11th, during the Senate president was out of the country, hence he requested to formally meet with the winner.
Acting on the advice of the DG NILDS, the President of the Senate did not only perform the symbolic presentation of the trophy to the overall winner but he also did what no one else had ever done by giving cash rewards of undisclosed amount to the first position and extended similar gesture to the runners-up and the 3rd position winner.
By so doing, the distinguished Senate President demonstrated his passion to reward excellence for their display of the understanding and mastery of the knowledge of legislative processes, procedures, and a clear understanding of Democratic governance.
It will be recalled that the 2024 NILDS National Quiz Competition, which climaxed on phenomenal notes with the magnanimity and strategic commitment to excellence by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, bolster the educational morale of the winner.
The overall winner scored 70 points to top the table, while the second position garnered 65 points, and the 3rd had 55 points. The uncommon visionary and innovative leadership styles of the DG NILDS, as shown in his efforts which culminated into the successful hosting of the quiz winner by the President of the Senate has commendably gone down as a mark of love and support for the children.
No doubt, the short but memorable experience of a lifetime will be a lasting reference for years to come and a record of achievement for the NILDS.
