TASTE Nigeria Tasks Journalists on Truth, Integrity, Honesty

Journalists as a watchdog of the society has been charged to embrace the culture of truthfulness, integrity and honesty in the course of discharging their constitutional responsibilities.
Ben Odejiofor, Chief Executive Officer,Transfer of Appropriate Sustainable Technology and Expertist (TASTE) Nigeria, throw the challenge during the official commissioning and handing over of water project facility to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State council, held Tuesday at the NUJ Secretariat, Jos.
Our correspondent gathered that the solar power water borehole project cost about five million Naira.
It was also observed the solar power borehole has a ten thousand water tank litres capacity with 250 meters long.
According to TASTE CEO, “the project is sponsored by our patron in United Kingdom (UK) in the person of Dan Walker, who is also a Journalist with channel 5 television.
“Walker, as patron he is a competitor in a project for celebrity show where they earned money for charity. He raised money for us to use, and having obtained request from NUJ that is why we used the money to do their project.
“Journalists, were looking out to you when you write and report news let see truth, integrity and honesty in youā¦.
“As a Christian charity organization our desire is that the project should be use for the benefit of NUJ members and community”, Odejiofor mentioned.

Jonathan Makan, project manager TASTE Nigeria revealed that NUJ were able to raised some amount and paid into its account with which enable them started the project in earnest.
“Luckily, when the money from Dan Walker came and we said okay since Dan is also a Journalist let’s see how the money he has sent can support this project.
“We spent about five million Naira here so that this project can be put to use. The money he sent down is not just for you alone as there are other communities within and outside Plateau that benefited from that money.
“These are people over there thinking about us we should do the needful. The water is specifically meant for drinking”, Makan urged.
Receiving the water project, Comrade Paul Jatau, chairman NUJ, Plateau State council acknowledged that it is a dream come true, as the council anticipating for portable drinking water long ago.
He applauded TASTE Nigeria for reaching out to media community, promised to ensure judicious usage and maintenance of the facility.
