By Daniel Agada, Jos
The Director General and Chief executive of the Industrial training fund (ITF), sir Joseph Ari stated that the fund will continue waxing stronger in actualizing it’s policies and programmes to better the lives of Nigerians, noting that they “shall not be distracted by mischief makers and detractors”.
Recall that the civil society organizations (CSO) recently stage out a protest in National Assembly Abuja demanding the law makers to thoroughly investigate the previous financial spending of ITF before assenting to the 2022 budget to enable the Institution access to funding.
Speaking during the 2021 half-year and third quarter performance meeting review meeting in Jos the state capital on Monday, Ari said ” I wish to use the opportunity of this meeting to address the recent efforts by some elements to blackmail us and cast aspersions on the direction of our dear institution.
“Although management had taken the decision not to respond to their allegations, I want to emphasise that our institution is renowned as sticklers to all processes and procedures, rules and regulations guiding our activities.
“It was in appreciation of this that the Independent corrupt practices and other related offences commission (ICPC) named the Industrial training fund (ITF) as the most ethics compliant and integrity agency amongst 352 Federal Government ministries, department and agencies (MDAs) surveyed by the commission in 2020.
“We are hopeful of carting home the award again this year, as we have continued and will always administer the fund on the path of financial integrity and processes, and shall not be distracted by mischief makers and detractors”, he mentioned.
The ITF 2021 half-year third quarter performance review meeting tagged: target setting and achievement in a post COVID-19 era:the way forward for ITF.
According to the DG, Ari, as we enter the next phase of our life as an organization, I am desirous of seeing an ITF that has answered its name as the leading learning and development agency that Nigerians depend upon in terms of actualizing the building of our economy.
” I would like to see an ITF that adds value in taking Nigeria to be among the top country in the comity of Nations.
” I will also want to see an ITF that competes favorably with other learning and development agencies worldwide. I would like to see an ITF that grows not just into a household name where every young Nigerian would see as a pride of place to belong to in terms of actualizing his or her career prospects.”
He charged management staff to make conceited efforts by contributing meaningfully in the process of deliberations and add value to ITF idles.
